Affordable
Very painful
Skin irritation
Expense & Inconvenience of additional products needed to repair possible skin damage
Not recommended for sensitive skin, sunburned or irritated skin, diabetes, poor circulation, or in combination with certain medications.
For your own safety, self-application is not recommended and help of a friend or complete stranger is needed. On top of that, you're recommended not to shower prior to waxing, because water makes hairs soft and more difficult for wax to adhere to the hair. So if you don't mind a “peeker” down below without having had the chance to clean your private parts, waxing is the way to go!
    Risk of ingrown hairs

  Pros Cons
Laser "Permanent" hair removal for about 80% of the treated area that lasts for 1-10 years Very Expensive
Risk of skin irritation and/or yeast infection.
No guarantee of results or the amount of sessions needed.
Avoid eating any foods that produce a yellow or orange color of the skin, such as carrots for months in advance, to ensure better results and avoid any interference with the laser.
Best results with a wide contrast between skin tone and hair color i.e. for light skin with dark hair. But if you have light skin with blond/red hair or dark skin with dark hair, you're either going to dig even deeper into your pockets to finance unlimited extra treatments without guaranteed results or choose another method.
Expense & inconvenience of additional products needed to repair possible skin damage.

  Pros Cons
Electrolysis Permanent Hair Removal Very painful, as a technician will stick a needle in to every single hair follicle and give an electrical current that incinerates the blood vessel that makes the hair grow and ultimately kills the root.

Very time consuming as each hair has to be treated individually. Depending on the amount of hairs, hair type, skin type and medical condition, treatment can take up to 30 hours.
Very Expensive (literally thousands of dollars)
Self-application is not recommended, unless you're a qualified electrologist
Pubic hairs may grow back for women in their reproductive years.
Skin irritation (i.e. redness, scabs, swelling)
